Rose-Hulman is especially well known for engineering, with programs for chemical, civil, computer, mechanical and electrical engineering. The city of Terre Haute, where Rose-Hulman is located, is also home to Indiana State University. The college town is located about 80 miles southwest of Indianapolis.

The aptly named Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers, comprising 20 varsity teams, compete at the NCAA Division III level. In the summer, the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts use the college’s state-of-the-art recreation center as a training camp.
